Forge Comment Assistant Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-07
Summary
The Forge Comment Assistant does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no servers of its own. It runs entirely in your browser, on the page you are already on.
What it does
When you generate a comment in the Forge web app and choose to post it, Forge opens the target post and passes your drafted text to this extension. The extension types that text into the comment box on LinkedIn, X, Reddit, or YouTube so you can review it and click Post yourself. The extension never submits a comment automatically.
Data handling
- No data is sent to Forge or to any third party by the extension.
- The only content it handles is the comment text you chose to post, which it reads from the page link or your clipboard and types into the comment box.
- Nothing is stored after the comment is inserted. There is no history, profile, or tracking.
Permissions
- Access to LinkedIn, X, Reddit, and YouTube: required so the extension can find the comment box and insert your draft on those sites.
- Access to the Forge web app: used only to let the app know the extension is installed, so it can stop prompting you to install it.
- Clipboard read: used as a fallback so you can paste your draft if the comment box cannot be found automatically.
